Owner Talks About Bino, Military Dogs Hero Finalist

by recycler on October 6, 2011

Last Saturday, I helped out Star Watch Media on the red carpet of the inaugural American Humane Associate Hero Dog Award Show. Among the dogs being honored on this night was MWD Bino C152, who was honored as the 2011 Hero Dog Award finalist from the Miltary Dogs category.

Bino spent 11 years as a narcotics detection and K-9 patrol dog before serving in Iraq for 14 months. Despite retiring, Bino is still helping out. He assists as a therapy dog for people with post-traumatic stress disorder and helps train younger service dogs and their soldiers.

Bino’s owner, Debbie Kandoll, talks about Bino’s service and the honorary medals he has received in the video below:

We will have other pieces and more videos throughout the week. The award show will be televised, in entirety, Friday November 11 on the Hallmark Channel.
